Statistical Process Control Software at DataLyzer.com
Statistical Process Control Software by Stephen Computer Services, Inc.
DataLyzer® Spectrum Single User Foundation Package
A flat program design allows users to efficiently create charts, enter data in real time and print more than 33 different reports for management, engineers, auditors or customers. A small sample of the many package features includes: Real-time data entry for variable, attribute and inspection characteristics; Sequenced characteristics for reliably consistent data entry; Attach Word, Excel, image or video files to enhance work instructions during data entry; Built-in RS-232 communication drivers allow direct gage interfacing during data entry; HTML reporting capabilities assist posting reports to the web or efficiently emailing attachments.
DataLyzer® single user-package can be scaled-up to offer enterprise-wide monitoring and system management by adding an administrative hub module and any number of satellite data collection packages.

DataLyzer® Spectrum HUB
The Hub maintains a system-wide, status screen, giving administrators an overview of all processes being monitored. Each color-coded block on the HUB screen represents a process and groups of blocks represent satellites. Twenty different process status' offer reference information at a glance, from statistical condition to whether checks were done on time. Click any block to view the process' control chart, histogram, edit raw data, notes, etc. Up to 1600 processes can be viewed at a glance and virtually unlimited numbers of processes can be seen by scrolling. The Hub user can highlight and select any block on the status screen to instantly display the corresponding control chart or histogram showing the latest data from the shop floor or lab. The Hub can edit this data, display process notes or print reports as necessary.

DataLyzer® Spectrum Satellite
Satellites can be implemented wherever data will be entered. Multiple, inexpensive Satellite packages are used for remote, real-time data entry and basic six sigma analysis. Data entry is accomplished using graphical control charts like X-bar & R and P charts or Histogram. Tabular (by-part) formats are also supported. Operators are encouraged to enter notes for problem processes. Each Satellite maintains a summary of its characteristics, organized by sequence. This local status screen provides an overview of the station in terms of 20 statistical and process control conditions. Satellite users enter data instantly by accessing any displayed collection sequence. Charts are created at the Hub and assigned to the Satellites, so minimal system access is available, locally. Reporting is available and direct interfacing is included for most RS-232 gaging systems.

SPC Wizard
Training SPC for variables
The training module of SPC Wizard for variables contains a graphical simulation of a launcher firing tennis balls. The program records the positions where the balls land. Landing position is influenced by both common and special causes of variation. The program is developed for students who already have a basic knowledge of SPC. It teaches them how to apply SPC to production processes.
Special causes of variation can be programmed to occur at pre-set shot numbers so customized examples of data can be produced for training. Students can make control charts and calculate control limits to detect the special causes of variation. The program supports the students with full explanation of the principles and many helpful features. The program also describes capability analysis and the usage of the capability indices (Cp, Cpk, Pp and Ppk).
Process Improvement Game
In the game mode the student is confronted with 4 possible special causes of variation: Two different suppliers of balls, the room temperature, inconsistency of the launcher caused by a weak spring and debris on the floor. The student has to use the control chart to identify which of the special causes are affecting the process. The game is won when the landing position of the last 100 shots has an acceptable Ppk value. The game is lost if the student tries to remove a special cause which was not affecting the process.
Training SPC for attributes
In the training module, attribute processes are simulated by taking samples from a box filled with colored beads. The results of the simulation can be quickly displayed on control charts, a Pareto chart, a scattergram or a table of results. The training module also contains a complete simulation of Deming's red beads experiment.
Real-time analysis for variables and attributes
SPC Wizard contains many features to facilitate data analysis; for example:
- make analysis based on parameters added to the chart like operators, order numbers, article numbers etc. (multi-variance analysis)
- select attributes to appear in a chart
- multiple Pareto's, histograms or control charts
- time based analysis
- show different charts on one screen
- add information to the samples to allow correlation analysis between process settings and attribute defects
- make correlations between different tables from any SPC Wizard, ACCESS or Excel file based on a common parameter (eg workordernr) or based on time differences
SPC Wizard is a Windows program and currently available in English, German, Dutch and Spanish.
